Why the Y?

The Y has the ability to shine a light in our community and provides a unique entry point for every single person. I continue to be inspired by the variety of experiences the Y offers that promote wellbeing, connection and positive outcomes. By partnering with other leaders and organizations, the Y becomes even more impactful so that individuals and families in communities can grow and flourish.

Leadership development in children and young people is critical. The programs and services the Y provides are equipping the leaders of tomorrow with the lifelong skills they need to make a difference in their future—and our world. The Y is investing in positive transformation and helping to break down barriers for youth. I am grateful knowing that I support these efforts and can play even a small part in such a mighty cause.

My kids grew up experiencing the Y through Kids Stuff, preschool, swim lessons, basketball leagues and adventure programs, and I have witnessed the impact the Y can have firsthand. I am so proud to serve for an organization that honors its foundational values and has proven its legacy of adapting to remain relevant in the community. The Y has a bold vision for a brighter future and that continues to motivate me every day.
